After completing this session, participants should be able to discuss the concept of equal employment opportunity, discuss the concept of protected classifications in employment, discuss the key provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (and 1991), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), define illegal discrimination, Identify when illegal discrimination occurs, define sexual harassment, Identify the two types of sexual harassment: “quid pro quo” and “hostile environment harassment,” Identify when illegal harassment occurs and describe how to avoid discrimination and harassment in the workplace.
