Competent Person Trenching & Excavation Training Course

The Competent Person, Trenching & Excavation for Construction training course is an advanced program designed specifically to teach supervisors, managers, and owners how to choose a person or persons to act as the competent person (CP) with detailed knowledge of excavation safety on the job site. Both OSHA and state requirements will be examined in detail to ensure the right person(s) are selected for the position of the competent person in excavation safety training.

What you can expect during this course

During this training course, participants will learn how to identify excavation hazards, implement protective systems, and ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P regulations. The course also covers soil classification, trench inspections, and emergency response procedures to help prevent cave-ins and other excavation-related accidents.

This course is designed for supervisors, foremen, safety personnel, and workers responsible for trenching and excavation activities, as they must be able to identify and mitigate job site hazards.
